About the manor
Britannia Manor II has been widely known as the stately castle home of video game entrepreneur and commercial space pioneer, Richard Garriott de Cayeux, and his wife Laetitia. Built on the highest geographic point in Austin, Britannia Manor houses an observatory, a custom build four horse carousel and a secret indoor grotto with rain beside a 20 ft outdoor pool.
In addition to many appearances on television including MTV’s Cribs, Britannia Manor is perhaps most famously remembered as the home of the world’s most intense, interactive haunted houses. The Manor was one of Garriott’s favorite venues from which to host his widely known interactive soirées.
The Garriott’s vast and eclectic collections have been distributed among several themed rooms—each connected through a clever series of secret passages and trap doors.
